Even though Safari introduced extensions back in 2010, the Safari App Extension Platform isn’t Apple’s main focus. Although not the only reason, extensions are a big reason why many Mac users are switching to Chrome.

Hi, I’m Andreas. In this article, I will walk you through the process and teach you how to remove Chrome extensions from your Mac.

By the end of this short guide, you’ll know how to manage all of your extensions for a better browsing experience. Let’s start.

Easy Steps to Remove Chrome Extensions Mac

Removing extensions from Chrome is an easy job. However, there are a few different ways to do it. I will explain each method and teach you how to manage Chrome browser extensions easily in the future.

Method 1

Step 1: Launch Google Chrome on your Mac and click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner. You will see a list of options on the left side. Click on “Extensions.”

Step 2: The process will take you to a new window, and you will see all of your browser extensions.

Step 3: Click “Remove” on the extension you want to delete from Chrome.

As a general tip, Chrome will remove the extension from every device your Google account is synched on. So keep that in mind.

Method 2

The second method allows you to remove a particular extension from the extensions tab. If you have an extension visible in the extensions tab, this is the easiest way to remove it.

Step 1: Launch Google Chrome.

Step 2: You will see all attached extensions next to the address bar. Right-click on the one you want to remove and click on “Manage extension.”

Step 3: Chrome will take you to a new window where you can manage the extension. You will see a list of options that includes allowing the extension in incognito, putting the extension on and off, and of course, removing the extension.

On the bottom of the screen, there is a “Remove Extension” option. Click on it.

Step 4: Confirm the action by pressing “Remove.”

Done. That’s it.

What Are Chrome Extensions?

Browser extensions are programs designed to improve your browsing experience in many ways.

Some extensions block advertisements, while others help you log in to websites easily, while an entirely separate extension helps you manage cookies.

But that’s not all. Browser extensions are designed for a wide range of services, and you can find them in the Chrome Web Store.

Take a look at what the store has in “store” for you (no pun intended), and you’ll discover just how many of them exist. Have you ever wanted an extension for a to-do list? Well, there is an extension for that.

Conclusion

That concludes this short guide on how to remove browser extensions from Chrome Mac. As you can see, the process is simple and easy to do.
