Does Spotify Tell You Who Listens to Your Playlist

On Spotify, you cannot see the users that listen to a playlist. However, you can check the number of likes and followers a playlist has by looking at the count below the playlist’s title and information.

Hi there! I’m Nancy and I’ve been using Spotify for many years. Spotify’s standout feature is the ability to create personalized playlists. This allows users to organize their favorite music or podcasts according to their unique tastes and moods.

In this post, I’ll address some commonly asked questions about Spotify playlists.

How Do I See Who Listened to My Playlist on Spotify?

Users on Spotify cannot see who specifically follows or listens to their playlists. Although Spotify doesn’t offer this feature right now, many users still want to know who enjoys their playlists. However, having this information would be valuable for playlist creators to better understand their audience and improve their playlists.

Spotify prioritizes highlighting individual music preferences rather than personal information or social connections. The main focus is on curating playlists and showcasing musical tastes, rather than building an extensive social network.

When users visit the homepage, they will come across curated playlists like “Today’s biggest hits,” “New releases for you,” and “Discover picks for you.”

How to View Liked Playlists on Spotify

While Spotify lacks a feature that reveals the specific individuals who like your playlist, it does provide an option to view the total number of likes. Regardless of the device you use, you won’t be able to see the names of users who have liked your Spotify playlist.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to checking the number of likes:

Step 1: Open the Spotify app on your mobile device or computer. When you reach the home page, click the profile icon in the top right corner.

Step 2: Locate the “Public Playlists” section, below your profile information. This shows all the playlists you have created.

Step 3: Select the one you want to check and from there you will see the number of “Likes” below the playlist title and description.

Can You Like Your Own Playlist on Spotify?

It’s not possible to “like” your own playlist on Spotify. However, the platform enables users to like and add playlists as well as individual tracks to their Library. Although you can’t like your own playlist, you can still share it with others and include your own music in it. This allows people to discover and enjoy your music effortlessly.

When someone clicks the Heart icon below your playlist title, it gets added to their Spotify Library, making it easily accessible from the sidebar.

Final Thoughts

Even though Spotify doesn’t let users see who listens to their playlists at the moment, there are still many users who have a strong desire to know who appreciates their playlists. Having access to this information would be incredibly beneficial for playlist creators.

So, it’s possible that Spotify may continue working on and improving its social features, depending on user feedback and the latest trends.
