How to Round Corners in Figma

Select the shape and find the corner radius settings in the right-side menu. Enter the radius number to set the value for all the corners. If you need to adjust a certain corner radius, click on the “Independent Corners” button to add a value for a specific corner.

Hi! My name is Yana, and I’ve improved my design skills by using Figma software over the past year. When it comes to graphic design, Figma is the best tool. The seamless capability to round the corners of your designs is one of many features it has to offer.

In this article, I will guide you through two methods you can use to adjust the corner radius in Figma.

2 Ways to Round the Corners in Figma

Figma gives the option to adjust corners together or change the value for each specific corner. It’s a great feature when working with graphic design. Let’s take a closer look at how you can do it.

Method #1: Setting the Corner Radius

Setting a corner radius for the entire shape: First, select the shape for which you want to adjust the corners. Next, find the toolbar on the right side of the screen. Enter a value to the corner radius input to change the corner radius.

Set a corner radius for a specific corner: Find the Independent Corner button to open the new settings window. Here you can adjust each corner separately by entering the number into the appropriate input field.

Method #2: Adjusting the Corner Radius Manually

You can also adjust the corners manually. Select the element you want to edit and drag any of the corners by the white round handles inside the shape. Although this is an easier method, it has some drawbacks. For instance, you can only use it with shapes and not with unions or frames.

Pro Tip: When you want to create more seamless corners, apply the Corner smoothing effect. You can find it in the corner settings under the More button. The smooth effect is set at 60% by default for iOS devices.

With just a few clicks and adjustments in Figma, you can effortlessly round corners and bring your designs to life. Take advantage of this feature to experiment with a combination of sharp and rounded corners, allowing you to craft unique and captivating designs with ease.

Final Thoughts

Figma provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface that makes rounding corners easy to do. Additionally, you can use a circle smoothing effect to create “squircles” with seamless corners. It is great for designing when you want to achieve a polished look.
