Hi there! My name is Yana and I’ve been using Canva and other design software for the past few years. I often need to present my ideas or findings so Canva presentations always come in handy. Creating a presentation in Canva is simple, however, sometimes I like to have a copy of it in Google Slides.
In this article, I will show you two easy ways to transfer a Canva presentation to Google Slides.
- Google Slides has a variety of presentation tools that Canva doesn’t offer, such as audience Q&A and live captions. So transferring your presentation to Google Slides can be a good idea.
- You need to convert the Canva presentation into a PowerPoint format in order to transfer it to Google Slides successfully.
- Some font styles in Canva may not be supported in Google Slides. Try to use fonts that are compatible with both platforms to ensure that the text displays correctly.
How to Convert or Transfer Canva to Google Slides
Let’s take a look at how you can transfer your Canva presentation to Google Slides.
Method 1. Transfer Canva Presentation to Google Slides Manually
Step 1: Always make sure your Canva file has a presentation ratio of 16:9 or 1920×1080 px so that it will display correctly in Google Slides.
Step 2: To save your Canva presentation onto your computer, go to the Share button and click on More to see more options. Under the Save section, click on Microsoft PowerPoint to download the file.
Step 3: Go to Google Drive, click on Google Slides and start a new presentation.
In the File tab, select Open and it will give you the option to upload a file.
Step 4: Click on the Slideshow button in the top right corner to view your presentation. You can check to make sure everything looks good or if you need to make any changes. Save it into Google Slides and share your presentation with your team!
Method 2. Connect Canva and Your Google Drive
You can connect your Google Drive to your Canva account in order to share your presentations more quickly. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Go to the Share button, click on More and select Google Drive.
Step 2: You will be asked to connect to your Google Drive by entering your account information Select Allow at the bottom to let Canva have access to your Google account. Once your Google Drive is connected to Canva, you can save your Canva presentation into a file folder and you won’t have to worry about logging in again.
Step 3: It’s important to save your presentation file in a PPTX format so that it’s compatible with Google Slides.
Now you can view your presentation in Google Slides.
I suggest that you verify whether all the font styles and graphic elements are being properly shown in your presentation while you’re viewing it on Google Slides.
If you need to transfer a Canva presentation to Google Slides, you can try the methods we discussed in the post. Just double-check that your presentation file looks the same after you transfer it into Google Slides.
