Have you ever struggled with tracking bills? Ever missed a payment and your credit score ended up dropping?
We all spend money and have bills to pay every month. It’s not an easy task to track our bills and remember the pay date unless you have an exceptional memory.
Therefore, we need an easier and more accountable way to manage our bills. The Chronicle app is the solution if you are an Apple user. It’s a bill payment manager that can help solve all those problems.
In this Chronicle app review, we’re going to take a closer look at the app, see how it works, and whether it’s worth it to get.

What is Chronicle?
Chronicle is a bill payment manager. It focuses on tracking your bills and the payment due. With it, you can get notified when there’s a bill waiting to be paid, especially for those bills that you have to pay weekly or monthly.
Also, with the data analysis features, the app can help you understand your spendings, where your money is spent, and how much you have to pay each month. It’s a tool that allows you to have peace of mind when it comes to managing payment-related matters.
How Does Chronicle Work?
Once you install the Chronicle app on your Mac, you can see the main interface below. The left side is the main area to show your bills. The right side is the information panel with the calendar and your bill analysis.
Managing and Tracking Bills
Adding your bills and getting them tracked within Chronicle is very easy. Simply click the “+New” button and then enter the information.
You can also set the payment due, repeat interval, payment method, note, and tag. These features help you be more organized with your bills and get all tracked.
Notifying Payment Due
After adding the bills, they will show up in the main interface as the screenshot below.
As you can see, Chronicle shows the payment due clearly for each bill. It enables you to know which bill you have to pay today, and which you can pay later. It’s so easy to understand when you have this information in mind. Plus, it uses different colors to show the level of urgency.
In the menu bar, Chronicle also reminds you of the bills that have to be paid recently. Notifying is the feature that I especially love and need the most. Simply put, Chronicle is the tool that we can use to enter the bill information and forget it because the app holds all things accountable.
Understanding Your Spendings
What’s more, Chronicles can analyze your bills in a smart way. For example, you can read how many bills are due soon, how many bills are due this month, and how many you have paid already.
It also shows you an overview of your monthly balance. For instance, your income this month, your spending, and the amount that is left from the month. This helps you truly understand more about your financial situation and push yourself a little bit to learn how to better manage your personal finance.
Not only it shows you the bill overview, but Chronicle is also able to analyze each bill in a detailed way. You can double-click the bill you want to check and read more statistics about your spending.
For example, if you want to know more about your spending on electrics, just double-click on it and then you can read more statistics like the screenshot below.
With the sleek the beautiful interface, Chronicle transforms those boring data into beautiful charts. You can see which month you spend more, and which month you spend less. Chronicle even tells your spending by different seasons.
Price & Platform Compatibility
As of this writing, Chronicle is available for Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Chronicle offers a free version with managing up to 5 bills with no time limit. The cost of accessing full features is $19.99. It’s a one-time fee, with no additional hidden cost. If you are on a Mac, you can download and buy the full version on the Mac App Store here.
Another way to get the app is from Setapp (which is what I did), which has a free 7-day trial and then $9.99 per month while you also get a handful of other useful apps.
Is Chronicle App Worth It?
Managing bills and payments is not an easy task. No one wants to miss any payments thus taking the risk of credit score going down. Chronicle is a truly useful app that provides an easy and better way to help us better manage bills and pay on time.
I’ve been using it for a while and I didn’t miss any payments and I can have peace of my mind. I’m quite pleased with the app and definitely recommend it.
As for the price/cost, Chronicle is well worth $19.99, compared to the additional charge and consequences of a potential missed payment.
