The following step by step tutorial shows how to permanently get rid of all confidential information stored on your portable drive by using the Mac wipe software. Note: before you started, you need to connect your external WD/Seagate/Maxtor/LaCie drive to a Mac computer.
Step 1: free download and install the program on your Mac machine. Run the app and choose one function (“File Wipe” or “Drive Wipe”) to continue.
Step 2: select the partition or drive, follow the instructions and then you’ll come to the wiping algorithms section. Choose one and click “Continue” option.
